Popis pozice
At Charged Monkey, we are a team of talented and experienced game makers. Our ambitions are huge, and only a world-class team could achieve them. To date, we’ve built a team of incredibly talented individuals from all over the world, who together are bringing industry-defining games to life.
We embrace AI-forward development practices and expect our engineers to be curious and pragmatic about how these tools can raise the bar.
In a partnership, we are in the early stages of development on an ambitious, unannounced, cross-platform Strategy/MMO title.
Do you want to be a part of talented and passionate game makers to join us on this exciting journey?
We are seeking an experienced Staff Server Engineer Agent Platform – Developer Experience to join our team, based in Prague / Bratislava on a on-site / hybrid basis.
Candidates from other countries are also welcome. However relocation to one of our employing entities is required. At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who are already authorized to work in the EU and do not require visa or work permit sponsorship.
What You Will Do
Developer Experience builds products and capabilities that help teams do their best work. From game development and creative teams to production, publishing, operations, and business functions, we build services, workflows, and integrations that make powerful AI capabilities dependable, accessible, and useful at scale.
This Staff role is primarily server-side, with meaningful technical ownership across Developer Experience. You will work closely with other senior engineering staff to shape and implement technical direction, partner with server-engineering teams to identify and address high-impact developer-experience needs, and contribute Unity Editor extensions, when an end-to-end solution calls for it.
Work with other senior engineering staff to shape and implement technical direction for resilient, secure, and scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations used across Developer Experience products.
Lead implementation of ambiguous, high-leverage technical initiatives from discovery and architecture through delivery, production operation, and ongoing improvement.
Act as a technical multiplier: unblock teams, grow other engineers beyond the Developer Experience Team, and create shared understanding without relying on formal authority.
Partner directly with server-engineering teams to understand their workflows, identify friction and opportunities, and turn those insights into practical developer-experience improvements.
Raise the bar for engineering quality through architecture reviews, pragmatic standards, coaching, and constructive challenge across teams.
Design and operate event-driven cloud services that support automation, workspace management, integrations, and AI-agent execution.
Establish sound technical patterns for access control, observability, auditability, privacy, and safe use of AI capabilities across a broad range of teams and use cases.
Use system design, operational data, and direct user feedback to make thoughtful trade-offs between platform leverage, reliability, delivery pace, and maintainability.
What We’re Looking For
Min. 10+ years of extensive professional experience designing, building, and operating production server-side systems in Go, C#, Python, or a comparable language.
A strong track record of implementing and iterating on complex, distributed, high-availability systems, including effectively partnering with senior technical leadership across multiple teams or product areas.
Hands-on experience developing on cloud-native platforms, AWS, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and secure service-to-service communication.
Expertise in at least several of: asynchronous messaging, APIs, databases, caching, observability, performance engineering, reliability, and incident response.
The judgement to choose simple, durable solutions and communicate their trade-offs clearly to audiences with different technical backgrounds.
Experience partnering with product, design, operations, and engineering stakeholders to discover needs and deliver useful internal products or platform capabilities.
Willingness to work beyond a strict server boundary when it will best solve a user problem, including making or supporting changes in Unity tools.
A generous, collaborative collaboration style that helps colleagues learn, make decisions, and succeed.
Experience with LLM-based products, AI agents, secure automation, or sandboxed execution environments.
Experience using AI-enabled products and workflows, coupled with sound judgement about safety, security, and user trust. Home use counts, professional experience is not a strict requirement.
Bonus Points
Built cloud-native services on AWS, worked with Kubernetes, containers, queues, infrastructure as code, and managed cloud services.
Hands-on experience with C# and Unity, including client-server integration for tools and workflows.
Experience operating services on AWS EKS with Helm and Terraform.
Familiarity with SQS, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, Secrets Manager, IAM, or External Secrets.
Experience building developer platforms, workflow automation, collaboration tools, or internal products for varied technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of security practices for multi-tenant services, privileged operations, and software supply chains.
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar observability tooling.
