Cloud Engineer (medior)

As a Software engineer in Transcarent’s cloud tooling team, you will build the framework to define the infrastructure as code, build the internal cloud platform to enable other engineers to create and deploy their applications and services quickly and efficiently. You will become the subject matter expert in various AWS services.

A day in the Life…

• Design, develop and operate cloud infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain shared AWS-based infrastructure powering company applications and services running on ECS, EKS, and Lambda platforms.

• Automate and enable self-service: Develop infrastructure as code automation platform using TypeScript and Python to automate AWS resource provisioning, enabling other teams to work independently and efficiently with AWS infrastructure.

• Mentor, consult and support: Provide tooling, guidance, and consultation to engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers to meet company standards and grow their technical expertise. Work with teams across America and Europe in different time zones.

• Ensure reliability and support: Develop cloud application resiliency enabling solutions, participate in on-call rotations for AWS infrastructure issues, and serve as a subject matter expert for specific AWS domains.

• Embrace collaboration: Actively contribute as part of a globally distributed team using agile principles for self-organization and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for...

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Software Engineering and Cloud Platform development roles. This includes 2+ years of experience designing and implementing complex, high-impact internal delivery platforms.

• You should have experience with distributed and cloud-based architecture patterns and best practices. Proven success in delivering new features to production is essential.

• Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on serverless and containerized solutions and their orchestration.

• Expertise in TypeScript or any static-typing programming languages is required. Experience with Python programming is highly desirable.

• You should have a solid understanding of Cloudformation/CDK and Terraform Infrastructure as Code frameworks.

• Experience with building infrastructure automation and seamlessly integrating these solutions into CI/CD pipelines and the software development lifecycle.

• Good knowledge of Linux internals and common Linux distributions.

• Familiarity with networking, TCP/IP, load-balancing, routing principles, CDN, DNS, HTTP, SSL and API routing.

• A team player with strong interpersonal skills who thrives in globally distributed environments.

• You bring empathy and adaptability to collaborative problem-solving.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail are essential. Someone with exceptional verbal and written communication skills who can create clear, concise, and well-organized documentation.

• A self-driven professional with a passion for DevOps methodologies and agile principles.

• You should thrive on helping engineers solve complex challenges that others deem impossible.

• You are willing to jump on a production incident call and work with developers for a resolution.
